Wednesday, September 9, 4-6pm: WNCX at TU for Alice Cooper & Deep Purple Pre-Show Party Stop by Tiki Underground on your way to the Alice Cooper / Deep Purple show for a party with the WNCX Street Team. We will also raffle off two lawn tickets to the show! So if you’re not going, come party with us and maybe you can go for free. No purchase necessary and winner must be present for the drawing at 6pm. From 4-7pm we will offer $5 apps, $1 off Bahama Mamas, and $1 off all draft beers. We also have frozen cocktails for only $6.50 each and $2 PBR cans all night.

We’re rocking our first Halloween in style with a massive costume party like no other. Think Walking Dead meets Gilligan’s Island, Game of Thrones meets LOST, and Sin City meets Beach Blanket Bingo! More on that soon …. We will have food and cocktail specials, killer tunes, and prizes for the costumes in these categories:

Saturday, November 11, 8:30-9:30pm: Roland Remington plays exotica at Tiki Underground
He has played tiki events all over the country, and we’re bringing him to NE Ohio just for your listening pleasure. Roland Remington plays mid-century Exotica (tiki bar music) by artists like Martin Denny, Les Baxter and Arthur Lyman on vintage melody percussion instruments. Let his music takes you back to a time when Hawaii became our 50th state and the islands of the South Pacific held wonder and intrigue. A time when every modern home had a tiki bar with a hi-fi full of exotica records to whisk you off to far away, exotic lands!

Wednesday, November 22, 4-11pm: Blackout Wednesday at Tiki Underground
Celebrate Drinksgiving at TU! We have a huge back room for all of your friends, food and drink specials, and two dart boards ready and waiting. SPECIALS! It’s Wing Wednesday with 60 cent wings* and $5 Kona drafts all night! Also, $5 appetizers, $1 off draft beers, and $1 off Daiquiris from 4-7pm.

The Del Rios return to rock the rafters in Tiki Underground’s back room. If you love surf music, or haven’t heard surf music live before, mark your calendars for this free concert!

Join us for an experience like no other, featuring the talents of LeopardLass, who traveled all the way from Australia to entertain you. Fire dancing, burlesque, sideshow, and more! She will be joined by talented artists and musicians Sanjula Vamana and Professor Pinkerton Xyloma.

Stop by Tiki Underground on your way to the Rod Stewart / Cyndi Lauper show for a party with the WNCX Street Team. Don Q will pass out promotional cocktails for you to taste at no charge! Friday, July 21, 8pm: The Original Hot Rod Tiki Carver returns for a Dual Tiki Carving The Original Hot Rod Tiki Carver Kevin Moore returns to TU to demonstrate his carving skills, and will make tiki history by carving one tiki at the same time with Geoff Ress! You have to see this to believe it.

Saturday, July 15, 1-6pm: The First Annual TU TIKI FLEA
Join us and for a special day featuring select local and regional artists and vendors sharing their tiki finds and creations with you. Follow the link for a full list of vendors and more details on what they will offer. We will also have live music outside provided by The Kahuna Kings and DJ Max Payola on WCSB 89.3 as a soundtrack for your shopping and browsing, and cocktail specials to make spending your money with these talented folks just a little easier. If the weather doesn’t cooperate, we will move this circus indoors.

Wednesday, June 28: WNCX Pre-Show Party for Dead & Co
Plan to stop by Tiki Underground on your way to the Dead & Co show for a party with the WNCX Street Team. We will have specials and giveaways announced as we get close to the date.

Friday, June 23 – Sunday, June 25: Ohana Luau at the Lake
The biggest little event in tiki. Ohana is the GREATEST, most action filled, fun, value-packed, biggest little event in tiki. It’s a three day charity event, held at the historical Tiki Resort in idyllic Lake George, NY. FUN, friendship, classic cocktails (mixed RIGHT!), live music, DJs, contests, vendors, auctions, prizes, freebies, food and a live Polynesian show!! Lake George itself is a wonderful slice of Americana, trapped in time, with weird roadside attractions, old mom & pop themed motels, and more retro architecture than you can shake a stick at!

Saturday, June 17, 8pm: The Kahuna Kings return to Tiki Underground!
The Kahuna Kings will be rockin’ a couple of sets starting around 8ish. And of course your need to “Shake It” will be spurred on by our savagely gorgeous Go-Go dancers, The Lava Ladies, including Vivian VonDoom and Lightning Layne

The Real Nitty Gritty is a regular music show by the talented hosts of the WFMU Sunday night program of the same name. If you love vinyl, you have to hear Thomas and Tania take you through killer tunes while you sip a delicious TU cocktail. Check them out for yourself!

Weekly Bike Nights on Thursdays! The patio will be open and we’ll have $5 apps and $1 off all draft beers from 4-7pm, plus $1 tacos and $3 Coronas and $2 Bud Lite drafts from 4pm – close. We have a big parking lot next to the Metroparks Bike and Hike, and will designate an area just for bikes, but space is first come, first served.

Saturday, May 20, 8pm: The Del Rios Surf Through TU
Surf music belongs in a tiki bar, and we’re excited to host The Del Rios to kick off summertime in NE Ohio!

Friday, May 12 at 9pm: Decadence, A Burlesque Review Presented by TU
Northeast Ohio’s longest running burlesque show returns to the Akron area to kick off the weekend. Recently voted Best Dance Troupe in Cleveland, by Cleveland Scene Magazine, Le Femme Mystique Burlesque / Ohio Burlesque brings an old school glamourous show not to be missed.  Featuring: Bella Sin – Cleveland’s Burlesque Queen,  
Noella Deville, Lily Von Matterhorn, Miss Holy Grail.

Tim HarnettThursday, April 13 at 6pm: An Evening with Tim Harnett, Guest Mixologist
Our inaugural Guest Mixologist program will kick off with the (in)famous Tim Harnett rocking the rums at TU. You won’t want to miss his custom creations, more info soon on the special menu that we’ll offer. We also have something special planned for Syndicate members. Tim has been influential in the NE Ohio cocktail scene for years, and is now dedicated full time to the craft. You will recognize him from Griffin Cider House & Gin Bar, Bar 32 at Hilton Cleveland Downtown, and most recently as part of the opening team for Masthead Brewing Company. As a long time lover of tiki culture, Tim not only has an impressive home bar and tiki mug collection, but he has also taken his talents to the cocktail competition and room crawl at Ohana Luau at the Lake, as well as a various regional events.

Saturday, April 15 at 8pm: The Original Hot Rod Tiki Carver Kevin Moore
Tiki Underground will host the original Hot Rod Tiki Carver Kevin Moore at TU.  He will transform a piece of wood right before your eyes into a tiki statue that will become the centerpiece of the TU back room. Join us for this truly unique experience…. we are beyond excited!!

Friday, April 7 at 5pm: Inaugural TU Mystery Cocktail Night
Starting on Friday April 7, we will host a bartender’s choice night — let Chris, Randy, or Emerie choose your Mystery Cocktail, also honoring a long standing tiki tradition. For our inaugural evening, Chris will have you covered with something special for our first Mystery Cocktail Night, and that’s one less decision you have to make.

Thursday, April 6: Flowers by Faith at Tiki Underground
GET READY FOR SUMMER!! TU regular Faith Dolson will take over the back room to host a fun night to make hair accessories with beautiful island flowers like hibiscus, calla lily, and orchid. All attendees will have access to the materials needed to make 1-2 accessories at no charge.  We will offer happy hour specials from 6-7pm, and serve a complimentary Pu Pu platter for participants to share while you make your creations! While Faith will be giving a general overview at 6pm, participants are welcome to stop by any time between 6-8pm.

Saturday, March 25, 4:00PM-12:00AM: EPIC GRAND OPENING with the Kahuna Kings
This will be a party for the history books, featuring a ribbon cutting with Village of Boston Heights Mayor Bill and two performances by local surf rock band the Kahuna Kings!

Enjoy the launch of the Green Eyed Hula Girl cocktail and much more mischief as Sean and Jessie celebrate their Irish heritage Island-style.

Wednesday March 8, 4:30-8:30PM: Disney MOANA Digital Movie Launch
A local promotions team will have giveaways and we will be screening the film all night. One copy of the MOANA digital film will be given to a lucky winner, who doesn’t have to be present. Family friendly, kids meals available for only $4.99. We will also launch the MOANA MAI TAI (our traditional Mai Tai) and the HEI HEI (a twist on our popular Chi Chi).

2016 PAST EVENTS

OHANA 2016: June 23-26, 2016 at The Tiki Resort, Lake George, NY
The Fraternal Order of Moai once again sponsored the biggest little event in tiki, Ohana 2016! Tiki Underground was tickled to join in the frolicking for the second year in a row, with the most memorable room crawl we have ever experienced – absinthe fountains? DJ from Manhattan? Disco dancing? Sushi? Yes to all of it. Below are a few great memories from 2016 until we meet again next June ….

2015 PAST EVENTS

HOT ROD HULA HOP: August 7-8, 2015 at The Grass Skirt, Columbus, OH
If you like great music, food, and drinks, this is the event for you! Our second year was just as good as the first, and we love celebrating at one of our all time favorite tiki joints, The Grass Skirt Tiki Room in the heart of Ohio.

OHANA 2015: June 25-28, 2015 at The Tiki Resort, Lake George, NY
We’re had a blast at Ohana 2015! It’s the perfect setting for a tiki escape, and to be able to support the efforts of the Fraternal Order of Moai. We were active observers and consumers and pool party participants.
